The researchers from the National Institutes of Health and other facilities said their finding has implications for treating infertility resulting from a failure of ovulation as well as for developing new means to prevent pregnancy by preventing the release of the egg. com AUSTIN — Albert Hawkins who has led state social programs through six turbulent years of cuts consolidation privatization and hurricanes is retiring. Hawkins 56 notified Gov. Rick Perry today that he’ll soon quit his $200000 a year job as executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission where he oversees 50000 employees in five agencies. "It has been an honor” said Hawkins a 35 year veteran of state government. He doesn’t yet "have a definitive timeline" on when he’ll step down said commission spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman. "He’ll work with the governor’s office on the transition. " There are believed to be two finalists to succeed Hawkins including Austin lawyer Lowell Keig.

Michigan preps child health information system

5 million to 14 health care providers that provide services to children the nonprofit said Tuesday. Among the recipients of the grants are community clinics federally qualified health centers school-based health centers and local public health departments including Denver Health a local “safety net” hospital and the Inner City Health Center a community health center that serves low-income patients in the Five Points neighborhood. Another nonprofit Colorado Asian Health Education and Promotion works with health providers to ensure that Asian-American and Pacific Islanders children have access to culturally appropriate health care including connecting patients with a bicultural case manager and an interpreter if needed to overcome barriers to needed health care. Some of the grant recipients will use the money to hire additional health care professionals to serve more patients. For example Denver Health will add another pediatrician to its medical team at the Montbello clinic.
