Know the risks heat humidity bring
Fort Scott Tribune
“When temperatures start to rise it’s important to know how to protect yourself and others especially those who are at greater risk of heat-related illness” KDHE Health Director and State Health fficer Jason Eberhart-Phillips said. “If you have a friend relative or neighbor who doesn’t have air-conditioning now would be a good time to talk with them about getting into a cooler place.

The Employer Mandate and the Alternative
American Spectator
Upon what does such an expectation rest? To use a term President bama would understand from his days teaching constitutional law what is the “rational relationship” between being an employer and paying for the health care of an employee?Let’s cut to the chase. There is no rational relationship. f course an employer is obliged to provide a workplace that is safe that is conducive to the employees’ health. The “employer mandate” as being used in the current debate on healthcare legislation is not restricted however to providing a safe workplace but extends to the health generally of the employee. Furthermore it is not restricted to employees but also to their spouses and children. The expectation the relationship rests on history. Employers started giving health insurance to their employees and dependents during World War II in an effort by employers to compete in the marketplace for employees when the government would not allow them to compete for employees based on wages (since there were wage and price controls).

NC House: Cutting Child Health Insurance
The Progressive Pulse
Also under discussion – closing the health program to new parents by setting a cap and only increasing the number of children by 6%. With NC’s unemployement rate at over 11% now you’d think we’d want to help families get affordable child coverage – especially if they’ve lost their job. In addition since for every $1 we spend in state money on child health coverage we get $3 from the federal government such health spending is an enormous stimulus to our economy. After all all those dollars get spent right here with health providers in communities all across NC. Any way you look at it cutting health coverage for children doesn’t make much sense.

Health Tip: Preparing Your Child for a Medical Test
Forbes
National Library of Medicine offers thesesuggestions:Give your child a detailed simple and clear explanation ofwhat is going to happen. Be specific about which part of the body will be affected andhow it might feel. Allow your child to react — even if it includes angerscreaming or crying — but encourage communication about what he orshe is feeling. Have your child practice the position that will be required –such as lying down stretching out an arm or curling up on oneside. Talk about why the test or procedure is necessary and how itwill help your child.
